Egor Kraft

Are we still able to distinguish between the real and the virtual? And if so why should we? What does the primary impulse to communicate look like, if exposed to the very essence? Egor Kraft’s work often explores the rising territories and possibilities of communication in our era of new media and its correlation to rhetoric topics such as information, identities, chaos vs. order, time and perception. He tends to explore the correlations of these perennial questions as opposed to contemporary technologies. As an artistic method Egor looks for ways to produce the work which sit on the boundaries between reality and its misrepresentation, exploring reality’s perversion and the consequences of this. He raises questions about the representation of actuality and suggests the impossibilities of achieving it due to the nature of communication means. Egor investigates how media advancements affect and influence our fragmented perception of of reality and intervene with its seemingly invincible logic, while adjusting economies, politics, morals, ethic and aesthetic values. Egor lives a nomadic lifestyle and inclined to praise the internet for impersonating cosmopolitan idea.
